Kingspan Renewables receives the NSAI Agrément Certification

Thermomax is the first solar thermal collector in Ireland to achieve this prestigious accolade

A world leader in renewable technology, Kingspan Renewables, is celebrating after its award-winning Thermomax Solar Heating Systems (DF100 and HP200/HP250) achieved the highly-sought after NSAI Agrément Certification, making it the first collector to do so in the Irish market. Awarded by the Irish Agrément Board (IAB), this certification is a true statement of quality and another feather in the cap for Kingspan Renewables, who has just launched its latest product, Varisol - a global first in the renewables sector.

Commenting on the certification, Alan Hogan, All-Ireland Sales Director for Kingspan Renewables said:
“This is a great achievement for the company. Since the introduction of the Part L legislations in 2009, and the widened use of solar thermal technology in new build projects, it is now mandatory that solar thermal collectors are prove to comply with all aspects of the Irish Building Regulations. The Agrément certification is the only current method of proving this compliance.

“We are the first solar company to be awarded this certificate and it means that our products can be accepted by the Department of Environment on new build housing, plus all end users can be confident in Thermomax’s quality, reliability and durability. It also cements our reputation as the leaders in renewable technology in Ireland.”

The NSAI Agrément certification is designed specifically for new building materials, products and processes that do not yet have a long history of use and for which published national standards do not yet exist. The Irish Agrément Board assesses, specifies testing, and where appropriate, issues Agrément certificates for such products.

The Thermomax product is one of the most popular systems in Ireland, due to its performance - supplying up to 70% of users’ annual hot water needs. With an average 25-year lifespan, Thermomax is the most advanced product on the market and is 30% more effective than flat plate collectors. The vacuum system inside each tube provides the perfect insulation, protecting the system from outside influences, and ensuring rapid conductivity and energy transfer into heat.
