Kingspan Solar, not only the best in the World, but simply the best in the Solar System…

Hundreds of people entered the Kingspan Renewables/Sunday Independent promotion which recently ran in Ireland’s biggest paper - making it one of the most popular promotions in the Sunday Independent’s history. We, at Kingspan Renewables, were thrilled with the quirky and novel entries that were submitted, such as “Kingspan Solar, not only the best in the World, but simply the best in the Solar System”.

Teaming up with the Sunday Independent, Kingspan Solar offered one lucky reader the chance to bask in solar benefits and win Kingspan Solar’s world-renowned Thermomax HP200 solar domestic hot water system plus installation.

Readers of the Sunday Independent had to collect two tokens and tell us in 25 words or less why they would benefit from the Thermomax solar hot water system.

Kingspan Renewables and the Sunday Independent then had the unenviable task of whittling down the entries to the top 20. The majority of entries were very creative and inventive, varying from stories to poetry to rhymes. Some entries were from “wannabe environmentalists that are too old to be a warrior in a tree”, some explaining how Kingspan Solar can help you save money and the environment “Thinking Green, Keeps heating bills lean, what a dream.”, “With Kingspan Solar’s system using sun rays, my hot water bills would almost be erased”

Other entries included wanting the system for more personal reasons: “Farmer Sean newly wed to keep bride keen, needs solar power shower to keep him clean.” There was even one wishing the Kingspan Solar made men that were just as dependable as its system.

Kingspan Renewables is one of the world’s leading providers of solar technology and as this quirky entry puts it “It’s the next generation of water heating systems, saving the environment for the next generation”.

But out of the top 20, Libby O’Toole from Co. Kildare was selected as the winner for her imaginative and innovative use of the Kingspan name. Through using an acronym, Ms O’Toole conveyed the essence of Kingspan Solar in just 17 words:
